Yeah, I'm having a very hard time believing this. I know a lot of horses that are this complacent, but horses often (in my experience) can't usually even roll all the way over, let alone chill perfectly on their back like that...

I would say pics or it didn't happen, but theres a moving one right there and I still don't believe it.

My horse will lay flat on her back like that; and there are competitions for this exact thing

Mine can roll all the way over but I've never seen him lay like this. Hell I rarely catch him laying down

Is yours a younger horse? Older/retired horses are the most commonly turned out at barn I help out at, so I wonder if thats something that gets more difficult with age. The mare I've unofficially adopted (my girlfriend's horse that she used to show) rolls all the time, but she can never quite seem to get all the way over. Now that I think about it, I've seen her month-ish old colt and one or two of the other mares roll all the way around a couple times, so I'll retract that part of my previous comment. Ahaha. My brain goes into limp mode after 1am. Oops

He's ah... 13, 13 IIRC. I have no way to officially prove that but when I got him the vet was pretty sure he was 10 at the time.

Ahaha. Gotcha. So that's not too old at all. I want to say the new momma is 17-ish, but she's been retired for a while because of an injury so I always think she's a little older than she actually is.

Here's a picture of her and the little turd (in an endearing way), because I'm procrastinating hard core right now and I had my flickr open.

what breed?

One of the mares at the barn I keep my horse at just had a foal like a month ago.

Here is my horse, he's a 16.1 hand palomino quarter horse. I took this when we were out riding in the woods

Oi... I've been told this so many times that I should know it off the top of my head. I know for a fact that she's from Germany, and I really want to say she's a warmblood but honestly I could be thinking of their gelding (girlfriend's current horse that she shows). She's a great horse, though, and she's gotten to trust me a lot. I was really surprised when she let me go right up to her baby to the point I was almost between them just a few hours after he was born.

I'll admit, the horse thing is relatively new to me and I still don't know a whole lot about them. I've only ridden twice, and the first go was a little sketchy because a) I had no idea what the hell I was doing and b) they guy I was on was a little fresh. I really want to get comfortable enough to do some trail rides though. I think that would be a lot of fun.

You'r palomino looks just like a horse at the barn! We nicknamed him Cribby because his name is Kirby and he cribs like a crack head. Dude is old as hell, though so we pretty much let him do what he wants. He's well into his mid-late 20's. I've always been a little partial to the star.

Have another, because this is one of my favorite pictures I've taken of her. Ahaha.

my horse cribs to, thats his biggest fault. I hate having to put that damn cribbing collar on, it makes my horse look like he rides the short bus.
